Denver Zoo

We FINALLY made a trip to the Denver Zoo. We've been promising Reagan all summer that we'd take her to the zoo but it seems like something has always come up on the weekend either work or church stuff. The day that we were actually free was supposed to be a VERY hot day so we decided to get up early so we could get there when they opening and go home before it got too miserable. It was still quite warm but it was well worth it for how excited and happy Reagan was. She loved everything about the zoo and every animal was her favorite. She talks about the elephants and giraffes all the time. So we know they are really her favorite animals. She was pretty excited to see a baby giraffe. But for some reason the whole time at the zoo she really waned to see the gorillas and crocodiles...when she has never mentioned them ever before...funny kid!! Some of the fun moments Reagan had was being able to feed a bird in her hand. I don't know what kind of bird it was but it ate nectar out of a cup. She also got bit by one of those birds. But that was her own fault because she poked it and it bit her finger but not very hard. She spent literally 30 minutes watching the penguins swim...she even wanted to get in their swimming pool with them. Last time we went to the zoo we took Reagan on the train ride that they have but she wasn't really impressed with it which might have been her age. This time we decided to take her on the carousel. I went on it with her and rode right next to her. I don't think she would have been fine just riding around on an animal in a circle but the whole going up and down while going around kind of freaked her out. She had kind of a look of fear in her face for quite a while. I kept asking her if she wanted to me jump off my animal and be by her but she said no. By the end of end I think she liked it...well enough that she would wave to her dad every time he came around. It was a fun day...exhausting...but fun!!!
